Seasonal Flu Shots

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, (CDC), advises that everyone 6 months old and older should get a flu vaccine each year. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions regarding flu immunizations:

Can I get a seasonal flu shot at my doctor’s office?

Yes, many physician offices or clinics do offer Seasonal Flu Shots.  Call your doctor’s office to make sure.  Some may still be waiting for their shipment of the seasonal flu shots.  There should be no charge if you go to your doctor’s office for a flu shot only.  This applies to all retirees covered under the UHC Choice and the UHC Choice PLUS plans.

What if I go to a pharmacy or a flu clinic for a flu shot? Will I get reimbursed?

The UHC Choice and UHC Choice PLUS plans will not reimburse you for the cost of the flu shot whether you are on Medicare or not on Medicare.
